Dune Companion Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 19, 2026

Dune Companion is a static web app, also available through an Android Trusted Web Activity. It does not require an account and does not operate a backend for collecting your game data.

Data stored on your device

The app saves game state, faction choices, and preferences in your browser's local storage. It also caches app files for offline use. These records stay in the browser profile on your device; the app does not upload them to us. You can remove them using your browser's controls for clearing this site's data. Doing so deletes saved game progress and offline files.

Sharing a game setup

If you choose to share a setup, the app creates a link or QR code containing the selected factions and rule options. QR codes are generated locally using a bundled library. Anyone you give the link or QR code to can read that setup. The setup is encoded in the link's fragment (the part after #), which browsers do not send to the hosting server in HTTP requests.

Hosting and network requests

The app is hosted on GitHub Pages. When your browser loads or updates the app, GitHub receives standard request information, which may include your IP address and browser information, and may retain server logs. See GitHub's privacy statement for details. Dune Companion is not affiliated with or endorsed by GitHub.

The app does not include advertising, analytics, or tracking services, and we do not sell your game data. Links to other websites are subject to those websites' privacy policies. Your browser, operating system, and app store may process information under their own policies.
